What is Carbondioxide Laser (CO2 Laser)?
Carbondioxide Laser is a laser procedure to treat a number of benign skin tumor irregularities.
Which imperfections can be treated?
• Acrochordon (skin tag): skin growth, can be peduncular
• Actinic Keratoses: an early form of skin malignancy
• Adenoma sebaceum: enlargement of oil glands
• Angioma capillary: benign tumor of capillary blood vessel
• Condyloma acuminata (Veneral Warts): genitalia virus infection
• Seborrhoic keratoses: skin wart, epidermis abnormal growth
• Syringoma: benign tumor on sweat glands and others
What is the therapy procedure?
Anaesthetic cream is applied. After 45 minutes, CO2 Laser is performed. A wound will form over the treated area, it will recover within approximately one week.
How to care after the CO2 Laser procedure?
Things to notice after the CO2 Laser procedure:
• If you experience redness/peeling/scab formation, do not panic. Carry out the instructions advised by your physician.
• Apply topical antibiotic to the laserized area for five to seven days
• It is advised that the usage of irritating skin care products be ceased until the wound heals completely
• Keep the laserized area dry at all times
• When healed (one week), usage of care products may be resumed
• Do not pull, rub or scratch the wounded area as it may damage your skin and/or alter the pigmentation.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, and protect your skin with sunblock, as instructed
• Do not use any other medicine/treatment unless recommended by your physician
• Do not apply make ups within the initial 24 hours after the CO2 Laser procedure
